WALKIES 26-29 APRIL 2019

Seatoller, Lake District

A few reminders of our weekend

THE USUAL SUSPECTS...

- Charlie "Can I have some more cake, please?" Grant
- Pete "I'll have a pint of shandy (and still leave most of it)" Smith
- Simon "Nice fish, shame about the paper" Piercy
- Tim "Quiet walk, just us & 250 others" Spate
- Dave "Nice fish, shame about the chips" Noble
- Steve "Anita Shazamit" Barker

Friday

Charlie, Simon & Tim head for Keswick, via Leeds, to drop Simon's younger daughter, Anna, back to university - inclucing a cheeky pint, of course!

Charlie was still basking in the glory of bossing the music quiz as they get the weekend's shopping from Booths

At the cottage the top-room fly count was onlty THREE!

With this breed, all the lambs appear to be black

The Usual Suspects

Cheers!

Did the sign writer die? ... Or is this just a sign of the times?

Night Toad

Saturday

The Fleet

We spent the day on the near fells ... along with about 250 others who were doing the "Derwent Dash"

Lunch by the tarn

Piercy Pot Noodle Pic (apologies for the poor quality)

Gaiter Aid

During an early poker game Charlie makes quad 8s

In the evening we get the open-top bus to Keswick. A few beers, a cracking curry and then an 8-seater taxi back home.

Sunday

Wasp nest in the shed

We walk to Keswick, taking in the sights and sounds along the way ...

The roots of this fallen tree apparently defying gravity by hanging on to a lump of granite

We still haven't seen any red squirrels

Tamping down a newly laid path

Steve taking a power nap

Alpacas

Porn stars?

Five manly pints and one girly cup of tea for Sweetie Pete, please!

Back home in time for tea and Tricia's delicious cake!

Charlie's effort to make the tiny TV slightly more viewable for all

Later, Simon drove the rest of us to Keswick (except Pete who had buggered off home) where we went to Casa's Sports Bar, played pool, ordered-in from the pizza house next door and watched the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the Baku street curcuit

Monday

Tim has a run, we have breakfast, pack up and then Simon and Charlie get the bus one more time to retrieve Simon's car from Keswick

On the way home, Simon gets a punture on the motorway. Audi had supplied the wrong fitting for the wheel type and so we called the AA ... 30 minutes later, spare fitted, we went to Lancaster to get a new tyre ... then home

And finally ...

An anonymous contributer provides evidence of a large fuel bill ...
