Friday

Charlie, Simon, Steve and Tim take part in a randomised music quiz on the journey up. In a closely fought competition Steve narrowly misses out on a medal.

In an early game of poker Charlie is almost down and out with just 60 chips left ...

After lunch the Astbury boys go off shopping whilst the rest take a tour at the fascinating Honister Slate Mine

The lively and enthusiastic Celia, mother of Mark Weir - the man who so passionately and doggedly bought and revived the slate mine but sadly died piloting his helicopter. Celia told us the whole story and then gave us a signed copy of her booklet
