Friday
Charlie, Simon, Steve and Tim take part in a randomised music quiz on the journey up. In a closely fought competition Steve narrowly misses out on a medal.
They then stop-off in Keswick for a browse around an old favourite shop
After meeting up at the cottage we head to the pub for some Friday night fun
As usual, Pete goes all gay with his drink

In an early game of poker Charlie is almost down and out with just 60 chips left ...
... but still manages to turn them into 4000 chips and win!
After lunch the Astbury boys go off shopping whilst the rest take a tour at the fascinating Honister Slate Mine
Still raining and plenty of water about
So off we go into one of the mine shafts
Our wonderfully enigmatic tour guide, Donald
The lively and enthusiastic Celia, mother of Mark Weir - the man who so passionately and doggedly bought and revived the slate mine but sadly died piloting his helicopter. Celia told us the whole story and then gave us a signed copy of her booklet
Later on, Steve turns his poor effort in the music quiz into glorious victory in the card game Botheration
Monday
We pack-up and head out. The music shuffle happens upon one of Charlie's productions ...
