WALKIES 19-21 MARCH 2004

Muker, Yorkshire Moors

A few reminders of our weekend

THE USUAL SUSPECTS...

- Barrie "Let's drive through this flood" Astbury
- Charlie "Are you sure? It looks pretty deep" Grant
- Pete "You might make it but it doesn't look like Tim's car will" Smith
- Simon "Do you think we should go the long way around?" Piercy
- Dave "Ahh, go for it Tim - put ya foot down!" Noble
- Tim "Hmmm, I'm not sure about this - oh well... here goes" Spate

The main features of Friday night :- Black Sheep, Fosters and Shiraz

 The Yorkshire Range

The Usual (wet) Suspects

A gloomy outlook ...

... but onwards and upwards we go anyway

More evidence of the rain that's been before... a more than babbling brook!

And on the return journey the river was running even faster ...

In the afternoon we visited Hawes.  (Hmmm ... perhaps I could have phrased that better!)  We first had to get the two cars through a flood ...

Tim was a bit unsure but followed Barrie anyway ... and boy, what a bow wave!!

In the car park there were two lovely looking Jaguars, old & new

Standing on the bridge you could view the swollen river torrent (and the next photo is what it's normally like)

The cottage door (and name plate)

Pete tells yet another tall tale... Dave tries his best to look interested

Barrie can see right up the old chimney ... everyone else can see right up his nose

Sunday morning, a lovely day ... and before we go for a short walk, a chance to have a look round Muker

"WATERFALL!!" << Calm down Charlie!

"Oooo!  Another one!!"

SEEDY SANCHEZ

... and the now famous and traditional - no, obligatory Piercy Pot Noodle Pic!

OK it's the end of the walk and as usual, Tim has not got a single splash of mud on him ... look at those trousers!  How does he do it?

Pete's state-of-the-ARK technology ... (Barrie is supporting the table to stop it tipping over with the weight)

... and after that last pint (or two), it was off home.
